Nan Howe has been drawing since she was a young child. Her father was a self-taught artist whose paintings hung in the Baltimore Museum of Art and the Brooklyn Museum of Art. Howe studied art at NYU and the University of Puerto Rico and has taken classes for many years in the San Francisco Bay Area.
An avid collector of ephemera, found objects and random detritus, her extensive
collection has been a source of inspiration for her mixed media art. She recently
participated in the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art Altered Book Show.
